#124: Man WILL FACE Tsunami as ONE

Nature.
Power to behold.
One little swipe from Her,
And all of Man is gone.

Man should not be cocky,
And think He masters all.
For Nature finds a way,
To Proof that She is unfathomable.

The Wave Came,
And wiped out whole communities.
Amid the debris and corpses
Lie a Ray Of Hope.

For, Life finds a way,
Slowly, but Surely,
Nature does not destroy wantonly,
A deeper meaning is to be found.

Man will forever be at mercy of Nature,
But He can at least show compassion
To Compatriots of those perished
By giving aid.

It is when in times of Great Distress,
That Man unites His factions,
And stands as One
Against All Odds.

#123: Hungry me

Hungry me,
Me hungry.
Eat eat!
No sleep, no sleep.
How? How?
No go, no go.
Why? Why?
No Sleep, No Eat,
No Go. That's Why.

Which do you savvy?
Which do you savour?

#121: The Den [of Writers]

The Den, my salvation,
From the slow retardation of my mind.
For here, I express my deepmost thoughts,
All in compact verse.

All can right, but how many express?
This is something worthy of address
By us all. So, will this Den be
The home of only a few. or
Will it be joined by more?

#120: Death as a way of Life

Solemn, sombre, sad.
Feelings I once had.
Now with feelings all but gone,
I no longer feel that forlorn.

I view Death as a way of Life,
The single hope, the salvation
Of a broken heart and soul.
Death, come, come embrace me!

Death wish I have not,
But sometimes in moments of desperation,
When everything goes Horribly wrong,
It is of little wonder that one will
Turn to Death for comfort and salvation.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suicidal,
Just a little... macabre.
No more, no less.

#119: Death and DESTRUCTION!

Death to all!
Destruction galore!
Nothing pleases the soul
Than seeing all in Pain And Death!

Death to All!
DESTRUCTION GALORE!
MWAHAHA! The power of pure
Chaos transcends the very
Fabric of Time Itself!

Stars go nova, planets freeze themselves,
Humans waging war on each other,
No one spared from the fight!
All will Die! All will be Destroyed!
Let the Mayhem come!!

Death to Alll!
DESTRUCTION GALORE!
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!?!
How much more can one say,
With so much decay in the way.

Why leave in a whimper,
When we can go with a BANG!
So, let's partake in the DESTRUCTION
TODAY! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

#118: Burn In The Depths of Hell!

Burn! Burn In The Depths Of Hell!
For No One Is Truly Pure Of Heart;
One Has Done An Evil Deed Before,
Even Notable Sages And All!

Burn! Burn In The Depths Of Hell!
Evil Lives On! And Must Be Dealt With!
MWahahaha! No One Can Live In True Saintliness
Save For A Few Trapped In Their Illusions!

Burn! Burn In The Depths Of Hell!
I Will Not Send Thee Off,
For You Shalt End Up In There
Thyself, And By Thy Credit!

Burn! Burn In The Depths Of Hell!
Fear Not! The Pain Is Only Absymal,
Eternal Fire, With No Redemption,
Much Better Than Living A Bastard Life!

Burn! Burn In The Depths Of Hell!
Dwell In The Bowels Of The Earth
Stoking The Flames Of Destruction
And Never To Come Back.

Burn! Burn In The Depths Of Hell!
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Hear My Daemonic Laughter,
Tremble In My Presence And
Feel The Pain From The Flames Of Hell
Itself!

#117: I walk the road alone

I walk the road alone,
The ground of hard hard stone.
With each impact of my foot
Ever so painful to boot.

Why? Why do I have to bare
In steps, under glare?
What? What have I done
To deserve all this?
Am I not like you and they,
Marching ever deeper into the fray
Do I not sweat the blood
That flows within your veins too?

As I trudged on, weary and spent,
Thinking of all the sadness I've met.
To think that Fate would deal
So Heavy A Blow,
To me, alone,
On the road of hard hard stone.

#116: Die a quiet death, my Loved One

Die a quiet death, my loved one,
Struggle not, fight not.
Let the coldness of Death embrace you,
And let your life be drained effortlessly.

Die a quiet death, my loved one,
For Death is the only route,
That all will meet despite the
Differences present in Life.

Die a quiet death, my loved one,
Hush now, don't cry, don't fret.
Relax the muscles, let the Dark
Envelope you, don't fight back.

Die a quiet death, my loved one,
Go on, die quietly,
As quietly as you were conceived,
As quietly you will be off.

Die a quiet death, my loved one,
My tears will not shed,
For deep inside, I know,
That you'll live in my memory, Forever.

#115: Dark, long, foreboding road

My mirth conceals my longing,
For a chance at leaving suffering
From the clutches of the tomb.
The road ahead is dark, long, foreboding,
Yet, far into the horizon,
A shimmering spark shines.

I, like a firefly, am drawn to the spark,
Too careless, like some, to look around hard.
I fell, headlong into the Deep Rabbit Hole,
The Hole Of No Return, as they say.

Deeper and deeper I fall,
Sadness and lonesomeness abound,
And yet, when people come,
All they hear are laughter sounds.

The darkness is as bright as day,
So bright that it blinds me,
And sends me sprawling headlong into the
Deepening chasm. With my alter-ego
Up above, giving everyone my apparent mirth.

*sigh* When can this all end?
When will light be seen again?
Will I get to go beyond the dark?
Will I get to reach the spark?

Only Time can tell itself,
Only Fate can reveal Her Intricacies,
As mere Man, I've no choice but
To Live In Desolation Till
Salvation arrives.

#114: Welcome back, bluediol!

Nice to see you,
Once again,
Though All I Can See,

Of your words which
Approximate your character.
Welcome back, bluediol! :-)

Lonely me,
Talking here all alone.
Moving quietly in here.
So quiet, so noiseless,
So....
Dead.

#112: Illusion

I roam the world of emptiness
Where electrons heighten the illusion.
All that I see before me exists
Only because I think they do.
For once closer up,
The illusion seems clear,
That what I hold so dear
Is no more than a vision.

#106: Privacy

Privacy, sticky, necessary.
Oh how can we preserve it
In a world of today,
Where communication lines abound,
Criss-crossing the globe.
Where ears hear,
Where eyes can't see,
And faceless entities
Watching Your Every Move.

And yet, to shut out completely
From the sprawling spy network
Is but a Dream and no more,
For how does one live here,
In this society with no link
To anyone, anything?

So, keep Your privacy to Your Heart.
Defend it with Force if you must,
For once It Is Lost,
It will never be replaced in entirety,
Ever again.

#105: Achtung!

Forgetfulness, a common affliction,
To all humans at one time or another.
Routine is the bane of conscientiousness,
Leading to the dreadful dreadful forgetfulness.

So, do a kind favour to yourself
And all around you.
Don't let routine ever fool you
Into a sense of security.

Be alert! Be wary!
Look out when you do it.
For it is when routine fails
Over time, that accidents occur.

#104: Insanity

Insanity,
But a mentality
Of Coping.
No duff,
No fuss.
If being sane
Will lead to unhappiness,
Then let me remain insane,
Forevermore.

#103: A Walk down Memory Lane

Take a walk down memory lane,
Meet friends of old who kept you sane.
Bid a fond hello,
To your friends of old,
As when the time goes by,
It'll soon be goodbye.

Take a walk down memory avenue,
And enter familiar places anew,
To see what have changed since then,
So much to see, my friend.
Before the place rots and crumbles
And one's hopes of last sight tumbles.

Relive the nostalgia,
Don't rely on memorabilia.
Please do visit memory lane,
Before it becomes vicarious again.

#98: Walk the walk

Walk the walk
In the Dark
Where Nothing Can Be Seen.
But whence did
Nothing be so invisible?
For Nothing is but a name
For an entity we claim
To be Not There.
But How Do We Know,
If something is Not There
When we cannot ascertain
If We Are Here At All?

So many paradoxes...

So, why can't I love you?

Where you most likely can see.

#94: Open House

The day is fine,
where I am now.
With the band rockin' and rollin'
A light soft rock beat,
With me typing at my seat.

The people all walking by,
Looking here, low and high.
The Open House is a place to behold,
For fun stuff are all unfolding
At every juncture.

Poetry in action indeed,
For no words can capture
What I can humanly see.

Vast void wherest I

#88: Living Life

Live life as freely as
It is supposed to be.
How does one go on,
When change is not exacted
Where necessary?

I sink into oblivion
As my life draws to a close.
With my mechanical persona
Soaring as high as can be.

I'm now more than ready
To give up Hope on
My Humanity,
And embrace the quiet power of
Logic and Impartiality.

#86: More on life

It's been so long
Since I last wrote
A Poem.

Life may seem to be
Unchanging, but Truth
Is, it Will and Does.

Change to Adapt
To The Ways of The World,
Yet stay as Unchanging
As One can Be.

All Things
Fair and square have
Dual Partners.
A good Skill may be a
Bad One if the time
Is Not Ripe.

So stick on With Life,
Keep On Changing, yet
Stay Unchanged.
Good luck in Life,
For It is a
Game with
No Restart Option.

Need Not Rhyme.

#72: Crap

To crap is good,
For it allows the excretion
Of unwanted waste.
Too much anal retention
Will stunt the growth
Of ideas, which, unlike plants,
Do not always stem from crap.

#71: Seeing and perceiving

Seeing is believing,
Provided one believes what one sees.
For seeing differs from perception,
We see the same
But percieve differently.

Thus rifts come about,
And wars too.
Too often it is all due to
A lack of straight communication.
For nuances and subtleties
Can obfuscate the real idea
Behind a plethora of fanciful words.
Then, the words take centre stage,
With the ideas left far far behind.

So, do a good deed when communicating,
Make it clear, concise and true.
Then people will not mistaken,
The Real You.

#66: Why the heck was I so gay?

I.M asked me that day,
Why the heck was I so gäy,
With the idea of Love,
And of girls?

I had no ready answer
Other than this:

Life must go on,
For the time has come
For The_Laptop to be human.
For once he moves on,
Time will be gone by fourteen,
Five and thirty he will be.
An age too many despise,
Too old, too old,
It is more than just time
To settle.

And thus, I had the need
To look for Love,
To look for the One
Who will be with me
Till the end comes.

Dear friend out there,
I know not who you are,
But I hope that you'll
Come to find me soon.

#64: What IS The Matrix?

What Is The Matrix?
Are You Still Alive?
Do You Think The Air You Breathe Is Real?
Questions Indeed, Worth Pondering,
But Why Care If Reality Is Real,
If One Is Within The Reality Itself?
So, If Reality Is Not Real,
What Can You Do?
Don't You Just Live Your Life On,
Bearing The Unease Of The Truth?
Shouldn't Life Be Like A Bed Of Roses,
Full Of Fun, Full Of Enjoyment?

#63: A Changed Man

A changed man,
That's what I feel.
For confidence has returned,
Wholesale.

I dare to live like
A man.
To hold, to caress,
To Love Some One.
To reason, to rhyme,
Like never before!

The_Laptop has finally
Arrived at The Next Stage,
Where the Big Test,
Will be on the mettle
In surviving the Lost Realm
Of Love.

Will I succeed?
Will I be triumphant?
Will I ever be happy in the end?
Questions too good, my friend,
Questions where answers are
Not easy to find.

And so I lift my head high,
And I dare stare in the sky,
Beyond the clouds,
Beyond the castles,
Into a Land of Phantasm,
Where, strangely,
Reality lies.

#61: Call to Arms

I am no First Rate Poet,
But to put words thus,
Is more economical then
Typing out long lines.

Brevity is what I thrive on,
For how can a programmer
Be a verbose monstrosity
To a machine?

So, join me in my fun,
Write out free flow,
Where all the feelings
Thoughts come and go.

Not all poems rhyme,
Neither does this.
It is the thought,
The feelings,
That make a poem it is.

#60: Poetry...

Poetry, poetry,
So simple and yet
So sublime!
Oh! How can I
Forget Thy Beauty?

Prose, nay,
Too verbose,
Too illegible,
For on-screen consumption.
But poetry! Ah!
The sweetness of
Whitespace,
The beauty of
Short lines,
The subtlety of
It all,
Pretty much
Speaks for Itself.

#59: Giving Love a Second Chance

It took more than just
A simple word.
An essay, an email,
A forum post.

To convince a stubborn mind,
Against a willing heart,
To dare to go forth,
Where every man needs to go.

The_Laptop may still be
A lot of lovelessness,
But Hope prevails,
And Love will come,
Some day.

And towards that day,
I look forwrd to,
The day where I can finally
See the power that
The human race has.

For Love is what drives
All of the human race
Forwards.
Among all the forces we know,
Love is one of those
Which words cannot explain,
But the effects are most
Clearly Shown.

People can sacrifice
For the sake of Love.
They Live, Hurt, Die,
All for the sake of Love.
Determination to succeed,
Also for Love.

If Love were such a powerful force,
Why not try to take it up?
At least I can one day
Stand upright, stand uptall,
And proclaim that I did try.
And no matter what happens,
I know that deep inside,
I had lived a live worth living,
By giving Love a second chance.

#56: LOVE IS ALL I NEED

Let your heart soar
Over the clouds and through
Valleys galore!
Enchanting sights await!

Into the land of fantasy we go!
See for yourself the miracles of all!

A tree that is so large yet so
Little in size at the same time;
Lions who look like tigers too!

Instantly, the scene changes!

Nearby forests emitting foilage;
Emitting a radiance the begets
Enchantment of the highest order!
Don't ask why; just look and you'll find!

#55: ANOTHER ONE AGAIN

A secret! Oh A secret!
Nothing more and less that
One chooses to see!
Today, we start all over,
Heck, no problem!
Echo after me,
Really, really!

Once I came, then I left;
Neither was I here nor there,
End of poem.

Abrupt?
Guess so...
Again perhaps?
In another time.
No problem!

#54: Learnt a New Fact

Today, I learnt A New Fact,
That one of the unnamed posters,
Is indeed a friend,
And a noble friend indeed.
Harking from the days of the Brotherhood,
Hurtling into the days of tomorrow.

You know who you are,
Why I am who I am,
And how I became what I become.
Fear not for me, for all tribulations,
Are but tests of mettle.
And being The_Laptop as I am,
Trampled upon I will not be,
Triumph over the darkness, I will,
With the darkness that resides
Within me, myself and I.

#53: GOT TO DO OVERTIME SIGH

Giving in to tiredness,
Of all the
Temptations that one can meet.

Too late! Too late!
Open, my eyes are not...

Down comes my eyelids,
Oh so very slowly...

Only now, a
Vermin bit me!
Enraged, I sprung up.
Reaching for my
Trusty newspaper,
I
Made an attempt to swipe at it.
Elongated the paper, hit it I did not.

So,
I
Gave up on the vermin, and
Have to start dozing again....

#52: SOMEONE PLEASE LOVE ME I HATE TO BE ALONE

Something about the air that makes it
Odd.
Maniacal.
Eerie.
Only then it is just
Nonsense from an
Everydayman's mind?

Perhaps it is not so,
Little does one truly know the
Eternal nature of things
All asunder.
Seeking, sometimes for quietness,
Equalling to serenity.

Languish over the past,
Oust the old fickle flame of
Vivacity, and then
Emit a more radiant glow!

Maybe it is time to come again,
End of days?

Interesting...

How about the rise of
All who are interested in
Taking an
Emu out for dinner?

Tell-tale signs of pure
Oddness?

Believe me, this is not as
Enticing as emu for dinner!

Anyway, where was I again?
Loved to ramble, got
Out of hand.
Now it is the time to say,
End.

#51: BUT NOT SUICIDAL

Behold the full power!
Under the power of the
Twilight moon!

Noon is not where I come forth!
O mighty moon!
Thou art the source of my power!

Sun is but a fad,
Umbrella for the
Icicles of the fakefully jolly,
Chagrin all a-showing.
Indeed,
Delight from the sun is
Almost never matched by the
Lushness of the moon.

#50: I AM STILL SAD

In the end,

All will be lost,
Mankind will

Suffer, from
Time to time again.
I
Look beyond the
Lush green grass, and

Said to myself,
All things that live must
Die one day.

#49: QUIETLY SINGING TO MYSELF

Quickly went the
Uber
In the fantasy world of
Evalon.
Tonight at
Long last will the
Yeti be free!

Swinging from peak to peak
In the same old fashion,
Never to fear the
Going, for
It is when the going gets tough that
No scaredy cat will get
Going.

Think, my dear, think,
O gracious moon!

May the sun never shine
Yet again! The
Sunshine is no more
Everlasting than the serene moonlight,
Lighting the evergrowing embrace of
Frost.

#48: CLANDESTINE MESSAGES

Coming on,
Loading up
And
Now alone,
Dead in the soil of
Eternity.
Swaying
Trees
In the
Nighttime wind
Evokes a sense of serenity.

Mindful of one's past,
Ever changing landscape
See past reality,
See past fiction,
All the world must learn some day,
Great men come, but do not stay
Everytime with the people.
So sad.

#47: ALL IS BUT A DREAM

Another
Long,
Lonely

I,
Seeking

But a friend, who
Undyingly shares
The deeds

And the

Dearth.
Really,
Exceptionally,
Altruistically,
My dream, no more, no less.

#46: I AM SAD

Ill.

Addicted,
Macerated.

Swallowed,
Adjusted,
Dead.

#45: LOVE NOT

Lonely,
One,
Vivacious,
Enterprising.

Not now,
Or ever,
To love again.

#44: SITING

Saw your posts,
I
Thought
It was so
Natural to not suspect
Greatly that it is you.

:-D

Hahahahaha..... :-D B-D

#43: What to do...?

What to do,
I'm not you...
Not so cool,
What a fool! :-)

In response to:
Surprised to read
Stunned to see
But it's no secret
That bluediol is me... B-)

#42: Identity of bluediol

bluediol, bluediol,
I used to know not who thy are.
But after last night,
When I asked,
A friend,
Thy name appeared.

A friend indeed, a friend indeed,
How could I, the all-seer, not know?
Why, I am but a fool then,
For I can't tell friend from foe....

#41: If Love were...

If Love were a flower,
Why, can it wilt?
If Love were mutual,
Why, can it feel?
If Love were eternal,
Why, can it last long?
If Love were you,
Why, can it feel me?

#40: Love is a touchy subject

Love! A touchy subject indeed...
In all senses of the word.
So strong, so sensual, so profound,
That not even scholars dare set foot
Into the complex realm
Of Love itself.

#39: Love is but a word

Love is but a word,
No more, no less.
Yet men have died for it,
Killed for it,
Fell for it,
And so Love
Is a word no more.

#38: Thou reapst what thou hast sow

Thou reapst what thou hast sow,
What thou seekest may not be thy wishes.
Thy heart shouldst be like water,
Go with de flow, be de flow,
And never turn back,
Whatever thou sees.

#37: Two Lonely Hearts In The World

Two hearts lonely in the world,
Each one seeking happiness.
But which will be the lucky one,
Who can find it first?

#36: Road Crossing

I looked to my right,
When I crossed the road.
But to my dismay,
I got hit.

Why? Why? Why?
The road was running from the left,
That's why!

#35: Ride On The Subway

I took a ride today,
Down Singapore's subway,
Or what was left of it,
When the tide came,
And took it out of yesterday.

#34: Love is but a four-letter word

I saw the Love that others had.
I felt the Sadness that I once had,
For I tried, but to my dismay,
To emulate the acts of they.

But now, Love is but a
Four-letter Word.
It sounds nothing much,
And yet it seems to mean
Much more.

#33: Time

Time is yet an Unfathomable thing.
Physicists say that it is relative,
We find that it is counterproductive,
To not think of it in this way.

Yet we as humans, would be masters of the universe,
Have control over the three spatial dimensions,
Yet no power against the ebbing flow
Of Time.

The Irony! The Irony!
How could this ever be?

#32: No Infinite Loop

Nay, no infinite loop
Can occur, for all sentient
Things run till the limit
Of time.

In response to:
Laptop's depression
Is like an infinite loop.
Hit Ctrl-C!
Debug, and run again.

#31: The_Laptop's Loveless Heart

The_Laptop's Loveless heart is full of sadness,
For again he has lost more than he gained.
Is it then the end of it all,
Or has the beginning been in vain?

#30: Why is the world as we know round?

Why is the world as we know round?
Can't it be square, be fair or sound?
Must it be the sphere-like thingy,
That we all imagine it to be?

#29: Sight

Sight is a human trait,
A form in which we learn to hate.
For many a time we thought we saw,
But in actual fact, it was not in awe,
That we see.

Though seeing is believing,
There are things that sight alone
Can't show.
So feel, smell, hear and taste
The intricacies of life,
And the delicacies of your surroundings.

#28: Limits

The Universe is limited,
So says a Wise Man.
But the Wise Man is limited,
For he sees only what he can see.

#27: Life is a cruel oxymoron

Life is a cruel oxymoron,
With all its bittersweet moments.
If Life were an analogy,
How real could Life ever be?

#26: Girl In Little Black Dress

The Air Was Chilly,
With Winds A-Blowing.
Her Hair Billows Like A Cloud,
In Front Of Me.

O What Sweet Black Hair!
To Match The Little Black Dress
She Wears
A Smile Too,
How To Forget?

#25: Though Human In Form...

Though human in form,
And human in fact,
I will not ever descend.
For I am The Laptop,
Real and true,
In spirit, in mind,
And in soul.

I bleed, who doesn't?
I feel pain, who wouldn't?
But I will never ever Love
Again.

#24: Wouldst I still darest to Love?

My heart hath break before,
As it will again,
If ever I break,
My vow.

Wouldst I still darest to try,
To Love again,
Is something that is,
Never in doubt.

For once a wise man hath quoth,
That Love is a form of masochism,
Where one gets hurt,
Again and again,
And yet comes back for more.

So, wouldst I still darest to Love?
Is a question no more.

#23: Here And Now

Though Yeehah1 quoth the truth,
But nay, no once, not once.
For The Laptop is here and now,
And ever will be.

In response to:
There was once a Laptop
Whose heart was broken
By unrequited love
So he discarded his humanness.

But he still bleeds
He still feels the pain
He is still human.

#22: Indignation

A Laptop you claim,
Aye! A Laptop you claim,
But don't you see,
The names ain't the same?

'A' is an article,
An indefinite one at that,
But 'the' is a whole new animal,
Unique, solo, one.

So, The_Laptop is no laptop
Of the run of the mill.
T'is the product of evolution,
And there can be
Only one.

In response to
Who would have guessed?
A Laptop that churns out poems.
Who would have thought it possible?
A hard cold machine that spits out streams of warm human words.
How does it do it?
Complex algorithms running through its veins of wires.
What has it achieved?
Mimicking human language to mime the fleeting fickle human emotions.
What does it wish to achieve?
To be human.
To what end?
Till it understands misery, melancholy, saddness and despair.
Why then does it seek pain?
Because only through its reflection, can happiness be truly seen.

by BK Bugger

#21: The_Laptop Was...

The_Laptop was once a human,
Till his heart got broken.
His love left him,
But his broken heart,
Still remains.

As such, The_Laptop as we now know,
Was born, and matured,
Into an intellectual being,
Devoid of Love,
But not of Heart.

It is The Moment Of Truth.
For I will undergoe,
The Trial of My Life.

#19: The Infamous Loner

People point, they shout, they jeer,
At me, the infamous loner.
Who loves computers so obsessively thus,
Much more than accorded to other people.

I am not insane, I am not mad,
Only loveless, to what I have had.
Love is divine, true and good,
But to me, it is worthless, not like food.

People around fall in love,
They weep,
They wallow,
They hug,
They Love.

But me? What about me?
I am but a Nobody.
Who cares about a Nobody?
Who cares about about a freak?
A geek?
A monstrous monstrosity?

Who will ever love me?

No one will.
So, loveless I am,
Loveless I'll be,
And loveless I'll remain.

#18: I Suck At Poetry

I suck at poetry, I know, don't say,
But it is a pretty way to say,
Things that are too delicate for prose.

#17: Girl Buddy

Another buddy of mine, a girl this time,
Was a die-hard friend, no less.
She and I met at the beginning of time,
When we were still learning how to write.

A buddy no doubt, who came from down under,
Nice girl she was, but no wonder.
Stood up for me when I was down,
Hung on to me when I slipped down,
Cheered me on when I was up,
Lent an ear when I had doubt.

A marvellous friend indeed! No doubt.
But, like all my friends before and after,
When the time comes, they disappear,
Contact lost, feelings grown old,
How to find when the trail is cold?

Has she migrated, is she still here?
Is she the same, or has she changed?
Will she even bother about me again?
Questions I ask, but how can the answers be obtained?

Cool, Joe Cool, no doubt about the code name.
Read the name, feel the name and come back,
To me,
Your friend,
Forever.

#16: Gentlemen Friend

I had a friend, a guy friend,
As kind as a gentleman could be.
He'd offer to buy me lunch,
And even for tea.

We met in school, years ago,
When we were both still unknowns.
A nice guy, no doubt, to all,
The Prince of a man, aye, says all.

We parted when the grade was seven,
I went to the west, he went else.
We lost touch as quickly as we met,
But how when someone too good to forget?

I wonder now, where is he,
Is he still good? Is he still nice?
Will he remember the days all gone?
Or will he forget, like most would have done?

My friend, good friend, true friend,
If you see this, hope you'll understand,
That you are still a friend of mine,
No matter how far, no matter what the time.

#15: A Crush

When I was yong, I had a crush,
On this girl, I knew, who made my blood rush.
So slim, so petite, so awfully nice,
But pity pity, she left in a trice.

Four years on, I went to the West,
To change my scene, no doubt, to rest.
Away from the sorrows, away from the heartache,
Away from it all, yeah away from the sadness.

And then as Fate would have it,
I met her again, back in the East.
Sample place, same table, same crush,
But now, I knew, the time was past.

For she had another, a thousand times better,
How can one win when one is like a pauper?
And so, with a leaden heart,
I decided to love I will part.

No more heartaches, no more sorrow, no more sadness.
Life goes on, no love whatsoever.
Loveless I am, heartless I am not,
I know that in my heart will always remain,
The slim, petite, nice girl of my younger days.

#14: I Walked The Road, Alone

I walked the road, alone.
The world left me all alone.
Friends come, friends go,
Who will ever say no?

Life is but a passing cloud,
No silver tint in the fog of doubt.
It passes as quick as the wind,
Before you wonder where you have been.

My friends they all lead varied lives,
Too far apart, where reality lies.
I trudge alone, in this desert stretch,
Wondering where the road leads next.

They said that no man is an island,
But why am I left in the forbidden state,
Where no ne truly is?
Am I to be blamed,
Or is there something else to it?

Oh my friends, friends I have met,
Have smiled,
Have laughed,
Have cried together.
Let us come together again,
And relive it all,
Forever.

#13: Moonlight Shine

I was alone, in the night, under the moonlight shine,
The glow, so bright, so cool, so sublime.
My heart pounded hard against the clock,
To which I felt writer's block.

Then, there! Can't you see?
There it is! Waving at me!
Not a spirit, not a hound,
But my friend, from lands beyond.

She left on a jetplane, years ago,
To the US, to the land of gold.
Left behind her friends here,
She left, I thought, without a tear.

How much I hope that we meet again,
Like true friends, across the land.
But I know that it is all a dream,
For whil will come back on a whim?

So, moonlight shine, moonlight shine,
The glow, so bright, cool and sublime.
Give my friend my heartiest blessings,
And hope that she will come back again.

#1: Infernal Keyboard

To type on this infernal keyboard,
A worthy piece for a worthy bard,
Is as hard as it appears to be,
As even poems are written by D!
